Terms of Service

Effective April 13, 2026

These terms govern your use of Querent. By using the service, you agree to them.

What Querent is. Querent is a private journal for tarot readings, with an AI companion that learns your interpretive style over time. It is a tool for reflection and record-keeping. It is not a fortune-telling service, a general-purpose chatbot, or a source of professional advice.

Your account. You must be 18 or older to use Querent. Provide accurate information when you sign up. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account.

How you agree to use it. Use Querent for its intended purpose: journaling your readings and reflecting on them. Do not use the AI companion as a general assistant for unrelated tasks. Do not use Querent — or anything the AI says inside it — as a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or mental health advice. Do not present AI-generated interpretations as predictions or professional counsel to clients or anyone else. Do not attempt to break, overload, or misuse the service.

What we provide. We work to keep Querent available, stable, and private. We will add features, fix problems, and occasionally change how things work. The service is provided as-is during the beta, without warranties. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, and we are not liable for losses arising from downtime, data loss, or reliance on anything the AI companion says.

Who owns what. You own everything you put into Querent — your readings, notes, photos, client records, and the content of your conversations with the companion. We own the software, the interface, and the Querent name. You grant us only the permission we need to store, display, and process your content in order to run the service for you.

Payment. Querent will offer paid tiers, including a Reader tier with expanded AI features. These are not yet available during the beta; the service is free for now. When paid plans launch, separate billing terms will apply, and you will see them before you subscribe.

Ending the arrangement. You can delete your account at any time from your settings, and export your data on the way out. We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or that threaten the service or its users. If we close your account for any reason other than a serious violation, we will give you the chance to export your data first.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located there.

A note on the beta. Querent is in a closed beta, and these terms may change as the service develops. If anything material changes, we will email you before the change takes effect.
